Isolation

As I have been reading I am learning to love it. I have really enjoyed artistic expression for the majority of my somewhat mature life. I in fact would love to write a book one day; a recent dream of mine. I am in the process of seriously reading the following books: The Kite Runner & Every Young Man's Battle. I really am enjoying both; The Kite Runner however doesn't help me necessarily with spirituallity but it is a very intense and well written novel. Just an inspiration I guess. However Every Young Man's Battle; well I will tell you something, that book is annointed. I totally had a revealation. That book is so direct and we need to hear it. Every man should read that book; for real. I would say that all women should read the female version of it as well, especially if you struggle with lust. Anyhow I was reading it yesterday just the day after I had posted that slightly dramatic blog about isolation and getting about and separating yourself. Then I discovered something. I thought why is it that I can fight harder at camp? Why is it that I feel free there? I will tell you that book is awesome and so is the Lord. I just thought why is it that I can deal with issues so much easier. How is it that it can disappear? I just felt strongly that it had to do something with ISOLATION. I am just going to tell you straight out that I understand we are meant to affect people; yes in society and all those such things; as well I do know that God has mercy on us and does not allowed us to be tempted beyond what we can handle. I understand all those views, so this is where I clarify. I read an entire chapter last night, the chapter was about oneness with God. It had to do with what God feels about lust; and what He says about it in His word. It had at least twenty passages directly from the word; all of them were so amazing. A huge section in this chapter stated the following in allcaps: CHOOSING SEXUAL PURITY - AND INTIMACY. If that is not crazy. I will explain why it is so crazy. I mean it is simple and shall I say "obvious" but revealation of it is so much more powerful then the "obvious" realization by yourself and especially when you have been blinded. So revealation of how your sin affects intimacy. Well that was a huge one. "Is that all?" you say. I say heck no. Listen to this; this is what my bookmark said, the one I use for this book:

Receiving the Holy Spirit begins with an emptiness and need that makes us feel isolated and unsure of our place in the Universe.

This loneliness is a gift from God. As physical hunger drives us to eat, spiritual hunger leads us to worship.
The Holy Spirit is grieved when we try to satisfy those spiritual cravings with earthly distractions. We then have made the Holy Spirit lonely because we have separated ourselves from the divine presence sent to us as the desire of the ages and the peace that passes all understanding.

The Holy Spirit, poured out on all flesh, is also grieved when we judge others, are prejudiced, self-righteous and belittle or condemn non-Christians who are indeed also created by God.

When we allow the Spirit to live through us we will soon have no part of behavior that leads back to loneliness and emptiness.

At the top of this bookmark it has a picture of Jesus holding a ball of light and fire. Underneath it is says CATCH THE FIRE! And then below that it says: In Praise of His Holy Spirit.

It is so totally awesome.

I don't know what that all means to you and I don't know exactly what I heard yesterday; but that, that is super. Total confirmation of what I am going through. Total answer. It is the answer. You wonder why you change when you leave from camp; not to say that there isn't just a huge amount of extra strength at camp but it is because you let all these things get in your way; get between you and destroy you.

What I wondered was like; why is it that those two months of camp are easy and I don't struggle with this? Then I was like; extra strength, but mostly: ISOLATION! And not being torn away. But why aren't you torn away? Isolation WITH GOD!!!!! Super intimacy is what we need, we need to refuse sin in our lives. It says so many times; you can no longer be apart of this! YOU ARE MINE MY CHILD!

Think about this. I mean hopefully there is revealation in store; I cannot create one for you but even just take time to reflect.

There's more where this came from. God has no limits; why should I limit Him?

Shaun that is amazing! I'm so happy and proud of you, too! Jesus, I ask that you would pour out more and more and more of your wisdom and revelation on Shaun's heart and mind. You've got it...all you have to do is say yes to God and He will pour Himself out on you. Isn't it weird (I know I deal with this)...I picture God as someone who doesn't like to reveal who He is easily, or the nearness of Him is something to be earned..almost like He is isolated in and of Himself. He doesn't want to open Himself up or share His heart with me...and on and on. This is such a WRONG mindset! God is the most vulnerable being I know. He created the universe out of love and let us (His creation) choose to love Him. And when we rejected Him, were spiteful and utterly hopeless, He sent HIS OWN SON to DIE for US!! I guess I'm getting another little dose of my own revelation. God is AMAZING!
So, keep running after this Shaun. I love hearing what God is doing in your heart! It's so incredible! Intimacy with Christ results in us desiring, choosing and living holy lives. Pure lives. I want to live a pure life : )
I LOVE YOU!!!
