this is writing
I will tell you what writing a song is, well at least to me. To me writing a song is sitting down on a chair in a big and empty, some what lonely looking room. It is quite a beautiful occurance. Then you sit there in praise, and ask God for each line. It is such a beautiful thing to taste every word off of His lips. I will tell you now, it is not the same when you sit down in an "emo" mood and pick up a pen and write a song for yourself or that expresses something, with perhaps the absense of the whole connection of the heart. If your heart doesn't connect with God when your writing it doesn't turn out to be the same, I mean it will sound appealing or attractive perhaps. Writing is about the connection cause that song will mean oh so much more when you write it with God at your side. The reason this came up was, tonight I was playing a song that I wrote at Camp in the dorm while I was all by myself at night. I was like God just provide the words, I want to glorify you. Well tonight when I played I played it with passion, it feels like the most passionate song that I have ever written. It just was like a wow thing. I could have played that one song on and on for an hour and I would have had the best time of my life. I just thought I should share this. If any of you are writers, do it with God.

I feel the same way about writing stories. What really has any kind of life when it has no connection to The Life? And what kind of story is any good that doesn't reflect The Story? Perhaps your song catches a glimpse of The Song, the beautiful one that goes up from all creation.
That must be a great experience for you! That's awesome!
