Phillipians 1:9-11
"And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God."
There is just one thing I would like to mention in regards to this prayer and that is the segment "that you may approve the things that are excellent".
This is a pretty loaded segment of a pretty loaded prayer. This one statement has to do with the ability of the Saints to know what is excellent, to know what is good, what is of God. Then to approve it, these are the two separate things in the statement, that we know what is excellent and then the action and speech of approving it.
In regards to what is excellent, all the things of God are of course, but this verse makes specific mention in its later parts of until the coming day of the Lord. That you may approve what is excellent and not be offended when God comes. This has to do mostly with the end of the age and we will need to know what God is doing and then of course what is not of Him. When His judgments come in other words will you know it is Him.
Secondly approving it. Will you be with Him, aligned with Him in joyful agreement. When He slays the nations. When the plagues come, when death comes, when destruction comes like never before. And it is God pouring it out. Will you be offended or will you know and agree.
