peace
cries of mourning leave me
weak shallow breaths escape me
limp limbs do not hold themselves
crushed hearts broken and shattered do not comfort themselves
eyes squint and ears quiver at the sound
heart sinks deep within
anger consumes the body
with silence comes sadness
with silence at once comes relief
an existence, that of importance
at need be, must cease
come and listen
come and listen
let the speaking stop
let not another word pierce my heart
let not another word leave your mouth
let not your tongue run away with you
come and listen
come and listen
cries of mourning leave me
weak shallow breaths escape me
limp limbs do not hold themselves
crushed hearts broken and shattered do not comfort themselves
eyes squint and ears quiver at the sound
heart sinks deep within
anger consumes the body
with silence comes sadness
with silence at once comes relief
let the resounding silence welcome the immortal peace of God
your heart settles, as will mine
wisdom and revelation
are breath and strength
do not be a resounding gong or cymbal
be rather an emulation of fragrance and essence
be peace
do not be tension
be not dissension
do not be a stumbling block
be not a wall in midst of a field
be peace
