overwhelmed
Love is above all else.
Truth is a good thing; never should it get in the way of love.
Love does not contradict truth, because love is truth and above truth.
God is love. Is this statement misunderstood, yes. Do I necessarily fully get it - no.
That is a profound statement though, and God...I am speaking for you a bit, but I think it is safe to say that there is a reason this is in your word.
I in no way have a perfect or even necessarily good perception of what love looks like or is supposed to look like, but I feel that I can love somewhat effectively.
Reason's:
1. willingness to listen to others.
2. love....itself.
3. caring spirit.
4. respect.
5. acknowledgment.
6. willingness to express love the way it is needed (even according to person/within true and reasonable means)
I mean love is hard but not hard at all. It has to do with your heart.
A good question is; are you willing to love?
And an awesome question is; what is love? Or what isn't it?
In truth what is important to us? Love.
Why do we love ineffectively?
Perhaps in some cases we have our own agenda, in some cases we don't understand what others need.
Things get in the way, grey areas even...
I don't understand why everything is so complicated...some complications are good.
For example:
Not knowing everything about people (specific/individual) etc.
Not knowing everything about God.
A whole wack of complicated and complex things are amazing. And in a sense everything is complex, but how complex do we want things to be? Somethings are naturally complex, and face it we cannot know all - WE CAN'T. But on the other hand do we like making things complex? Hard? Complicated?
This is not an argument against right and wrong, I am a firm believer in right in wrong, but Love is above that, how can love be wrong? It can't because if your doing something wrong it isn't love.
Another good question is; what is right and what is wrong?
What is important? What isn't?
Here is a good one for ya.
WHAT DO WE NEED TO KNOW? AND WHAT DO WE WANT TO PROVE?

Hey Shaun,
I think you are using the verse out of 1 John 4:8, where it says, "He who does not love does not know God, for God is love."
It almost sounds in your post that you are defining God as "love," and using it as a definitive statement in regards to the nature of God. I do find this a great error that the church tends to do. I believe John is making more of offering of a fact & not a definition in this verse.
I think that "God is love" means that love is an essential attribute of God. God is way more then just love. He is transcendent, justice, merciful, immutable, holy, self-sufficient and so forth. We have to remember that God is way more then just "love."
Love expresses the way He is in His unitary being. Same as words like, holiness, justice, faithfulness, and truth. Love wills the good of all and never wills harm or evil to any.
Truth = love as so does love = truth. God sent His son to this earth and His son spoke truth in many circumstances. Truth will never get in the way of love, because people want to speak truth to those they love.
Truth and love are very much equal to each other. Jesus spoke truth out of love, and he spoke of love out of truth. Love is not above truth, because Jesus is love, just as He is truth.
